Back to Strength Pilates with Nicola Rafferty

This workshop begins on Friday evening with an introduction to Pilates, from learning the fundamentals, alignment and awareness of posture to the effectiveness of mind-body connection.

Both days begin with effective gentle mobilising moves. Saturday leads onto the mat work repertoire, created by Joseph Pilates, with contemporary adaptions from the original moves for our ever-changing lifestyles.

The afternoon fit ball session: due to the natural instability of the ball, this challenges balance and increases core strength. It also simulates exercises from the Reformer machine, which Joseph Pilates created on the Isle of Man. The session finishes with a mobility & stretching session before a well-earned exclusive spa session.

Sunday incorporates an invigorating flow mat work class to challenge the mind and increase muscle stamina. The weekend concludes with various small equipment to further emphasis muscle groups and to increase flexibility.

You will finish feeling better coordinated of mind body and spirit!
