April 2010 Music for the Heart and Soul - Scott Jasper & Susan Garlick of 'Dragonfly Moon'

Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th April 2010

During this musical retreat you will learn to play a variety of tribal instruments from around the world, encouraging you to discover where you are on your life's path, overcome inhibition and express yourself fully with freedom and creativity.

Held in a beautiful setting with an atmosphere of warmth and enthusiasm, this weekend provides a unique opportunity to explore the transformational power of music in connection with the nurturing spirit of both landscape and community. Beginning with the ‘spirit of the self' you will reconnect with your centre by harnessing the haunting sounds of North American flute, the meditative tones of Tibetan singing bowls and mantras and the powerful magic of frame drumming. This will in turn open you up to experience the wild power of drum and voice, exploring the vibrancy of rhythm using African djembes, known also as both the ‘dancing' and ‘healing' drum and feeling the profound freedom of singing together from the heart and soul, as we share songs and chants to reconnect us to earth and spirit.

We will also explore the healing qualities of sound and ancient musical instruments including a didgeridoo ‘visioning' and a drum healing circle, as well as reconnecting with the natural music of the landscape as we look outwards to nature, expressing and celebrating our connections to the wild land and the elements through music and voice-work, stirring your creativity with a visit to one of Man's beautiful beaches.

Ancient and universal, powerful and profound, music urges us to celebrate the inspiration magic of life itself.
