The Kabbalah or Tree of Life is an ancient mystical system of understanding the Universe and how Divine energies manifest in the world. The ‘ten spheres' lead us from the most physical aspects of existence, through qualities such as creativity, thought, emotion, balance, structure, compassion, relationship, wisdom and inspiration, to our highest sense of universal interconnectedness.
Some powerful ancient meditation techniques from The Kabbalah have recently come to light . Philip Clouts shows how to use these for a greater sense of calm, clarity and illumination.
“Kabbalistic meditation is a way for us Westerners to approach mindfulness, visualisation and mantra from within the source of our own tradition.”
Philip Clouts studied social anthropology at Cambridge and psychotherapy at the Minster Centre. He has devoted his professional life to music, touring internationally and recording many CDs of jazz and world music.
As a founder member of a Spiritual Renewal group in London in the early 1990s he has been immersed in Kabbalah from that time.
Since he first learned to meditate over 20 years ago, he has studied many texts of this ancient system, and spent time with a number of the key teachers who have devoted their lives to the subject. He now offers Kabbalistic experiences through teachings, meditations and musical events, having recently composed and developed a meditational concert performance, “Songs of Eden,” which was premiered at the Festival of Sacred Music in Portland and has since been released on CD.
